Water150, developed by the Longhouse Foundation, announced sponsorship of two major blockchain and finance events—ETHSofia in Sofia, Bulgaria (September 24–25) and JFEX in Amman, Jordan (September 23–24). Positioning itself as the “hydration partner,” Water150 will provide premium spring water sourced from historic wells in Sätra Brunn, Sweden. The sponsorship underscores Water150’s effort to integrate physical real-world assets into blockchain ecosystems through tokenization.
The project’s native W150 token enables stakeholders to secure water rights for a 150-year period within a transparent, onchain registry. Attendees at both conferences will have opportunities to engage with Water150’s founders, receive branded bottles and learn about sustainable water management practices backed by blockchain verification. The initiative aims to highlight how tokenized real-world assets can address resource scarcity and environmental stewardship.
ETHSofia, hosted at Sofia Tech Park, focuses on Web3 innovation, decentralized applications, AI integration and blockchain research, drawing builders and investors from across Europe. JFEX, a longstanding financial expo in Amman, convenes government bodies, institutional traders and fintech innovators to discuss banking, forex and emerging financial technologies. Water150’s presence at these events represents an intersection of environmental sustainability and decentralized finance.
In sponsorship communications, founder Jörgen Ringman emphasized the project’s mission to “demonstrate a viable model for long-term resource preservation using blockchain.” The Water150 ecosystem comprises a network of over 1,000 certified wells managed under the Longhouse Water Quality Standard, ensuring consistent purity and supply. The tokenomics structure aligns incentives between well operators, token holders and broader community stakeholders.
Water150’s roadmap includes whitepaper updates detailing MiCAR-compliant governance frameworks and DROP voucher mechanisms, which grant token holders future access to water resources. Post-event initiatives involve pilot deployments in additional regions and exploratory partnerships with sustainable agriculture projects. The strategy aims to validate tokenized resource management as a scalable model for critical commodities.
By leveraging high-profile events, Water150 seeks to engage developers, policymakers and investors in dialogue about tokenization’s potential beyond purely financial applications. The sponsorship is expected to bolster Water150’s visibility ahead of planned W150 token distribution phases, regulatory reviews and secondary market listings. As tokenized real-world assets gain traction, Water150’s model may serve as a blueprint for integrating essential supply chains with decentralized governance structures.
